Stablecoin Checkout with USDC
This case study looks at how stablecoins can improve checkout by letting shoppers pay directly in USDC. The flow is fast, familiar, and trustworthy — from connecting a wallet and signing the transaction to seeing instant confirmation that the order is complete.

Problem Statement
For shoppers, online payments are often unreliable. Card transactions fail, international purchases come with high FX fees, and settlement can take days. This creates frustration, extra costs, and uncertainty when trying to buy goods online.
Solution
Stablecoin Checkout gives shoppers a faster and more reliable way to pay. Instead of using cards, they select “Pay with USDC”, scan a QR code, and send the payment directly from their wallet. The transaction confirms within seconds, so shoppers know immediately that their order is secure.
My process
To ground the experience, I designed around a primary persona: Adaeze, a 27-year-old fashion enthusiast in Lagos who shops online regularly. Adaeze is frustrated by failed card payments, high FX fees, and long settlement times when buying fashion items. Her goal is simple: a smooth, affordable, and reliable checkout experience that confirms her purchase instantly

User Flow
At checkout, the shopper clicks ‘Pay with USDC,’ connects their wallet, enters the amount, signs the transaction, and then sees either a confirmation if the payment succeeds or an error message if their wallet balance is insufficient.

Outcome
This flow shows how everyday purchases can be powered by crypto without adding friction. Shoppers get faster, cheaper payments, and merchants receive funds instantly without relying on costly intermediaries.

Learnings
Designing for e-commerce taught me that adoption depends on familiarity. The checkout flow had to feel as simple as using a card, while building trust with clear confirmations and instant results.
